Profile & settings

Everything on these two screens exists to answer one question faster: who is this person, where are they, and what does the responder need to know? Fill it in properly once.

My Profile

The Profile tab. At the top: your photo, your name, and a badge reading Premium Protection or Basic Protection.

Below that, three sections:

  • Personal information: your phone number and email. Blank fields read "No phone added" / "No email".
  • Safety settings: Emergency Contact 1, Emergency Contact 2, and Privacy & Consent. Unset contacts read "Not set, tap to add".
  • Account: your Subscription Plan (Premium or Free), and Log Out.

Edit your profile

Tap the edit icon in the top-right of the Profile tab.

  1. Profile photo

Tap the avatar to take a photo or pick one from your gallery. Use a clear, current photo of your face. This is how a responder identifies you in a crowd or a dark car park. A failed upload tells you: "Photo upload failed. Please try again."

  2. Name, phone and email

Keep the phone number current; it is the number the command centre calls first.

  3. Home address

Used when an alert cannot get a usable GPS fix, and as context for the responder. Include the estate or building name, not just the street.

  4. Medical information

Conditions, allergies, medication, blood group. Short and factual: "Asthmatic, carries inhaler. Allergic to penicillin. Blood group O+."

Emergency contacts

Settings → Safety Configuration → Emergency Contacts. The screen says: "Manage up to two emergency contacts." The settings row shows how many are active.

Each contact takes three fields:

  • Full Name
  • Phone Number
  • Relationship: Spouse, Parent, Sibling, Flatmate…
Pick contacts who will actually answer

Choose two people on different phones, ideally in different places, who pick up unknown numbers. A partner who is always with you is a poor second contact: if something happens to you both, nobody answers. And tell them they are your emergency contacts.

Medical preferences

Settings → Safety Configuration → Medical Preferences: "Useful for ambulance coordination and escalation."

  • I have medical insurance: a toggle. "Optional, but helpful for ambulance coordination."
  • Insurance Company Name
  • Preferred Hospital Name
  • Preferred Hospital Address
  • Preferred Hospital Phone

Tap Save Medical Preferences. When an ambulance is dispatched, this is what decides where they take you, and whether the receiving hospital can bill your insurer instead of asking for cash at the door.

Location privacy

Settings → Preferences → Location Privacy. The row shows your current grant, e.g. While In Use. Tapping it takes you to your device's location settings for RapidShield.

"While In Use" is not enough

An alert raised from your pocket, or automatically by Guardian Mode, happens while the app is in the background. Set location to Allow all the time or those alerts go out without a position.

Notification settings

Settings → Preferences → Notifications. Controls which push notifications you receive. Leave alert-related notifications on: the Guardian cancel countdown is delivered this way, and turning it off means an automatic SOS can dispatch without giving you the chance to stop it.

Also under Preferences: History of Events, which opens your full event log.

Change your password

Settings → Account → Change Password.

  1. Enter your current password

    Then your new password twice.

  2. Meet the strength rules

8+ characters, one uppercase, one lowercase, one number, one special character.

  3. Watch for the two common errors

"Please fill in all fields." and "New passwords do not match."

Locked out entirely? Use Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen instead.

Help centre and legal

Under SUPPORT in Settings:

The rest of the Settings screen

  • SAFETY CONFIGURATION: Guardian Mode (shows Premium or Configured), Emergency Contacts, Medical Preferences.
  • PREFERENCES: History of Events, Notifications, Location Privacy.
  • ACCOUNT: Subscription Plan, Manage Family (family plans only), Billing History, Change Password.
  • DANGER ZONE: Delete Account.
  • Log Out: confirms first: "Are you sure you want to log out?"

Deleting your account

30-day grace period

Deleting deactivates your account and signs you out. Your data is kept for 30 days, during which you can email support@rapidemergencysystem.com to reinstate it. After 30 days it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

  1. Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account

Described as "Delete your account (30-day grace period)".

  2. Type DELETE to confirm

The Delete button stays disabled until you type it exactly.

  3. Cancel your subscription separately

Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Apple controls that. Cancel it in iOS Settings first. See Cancelling a plan.

No password is required, so this works for Google- and Apple-signed-in accounts too.
