Gate security console

The screen you work from at the gate. Three tabs, one job: confirm the code is real, confirm who it belongs to, and record the movement.

Signing in as gate staff

Your estate manager creates your account and sends you the credentials. Sign in at the portal login with your email and password. You land on Verify Visitor Code, headed Gate Security.

Three tabs: Verify, History and Incidents. You have no access to residents, billing or estate settings. This console does one job.

There is a phone version too

The same credentials work in the mobile app's Estate Security portal, which adds camera scanning and photo capture. Use whichever suits your gate. See Estate Security gate screen.

  1. Ask the visitor for their code

The resident generated it in their app and sent it to them.

  2. Type it in and verify

The console checks it against the estate's live codes.

  3. Read what comes back

A valid code shows you the Resident who issued it, their house, and the Visitor note. An invalid, expired or revoked code is rejected. Do not let them in on the strength of a name alone.

  4. Confirm against the person in front of you

The note is the resident's own description: "Plumber", "Aunty Ngozi". If the person does not match the note, call the resident before opening the gate.

Record an entry

Once verified, click Record Entry. The visitor moves onto the Currently Inside list and the movement is written to the gate history with your name and the timestamp.

Record the entry as it happens, not at the end of your shift. The inside-list is what the next officer relies on.

Record an exit

When the visitor leaves, click Record Exit. Two ways this arrives:

  • The resident generated an exit code for them, which you verify the same way.
  • The visitor is already on your Currently Inside list; select them and record the exit directly.

Clearing exits properly is what keeps the inside-list meaningful. A list of forty people who "never left" tells you nothing.

Active codes and currently inside

Two live lists below the verify box, each with a Refresh button:

  • Active Codes: codes valid right now, with resident, house, visitor note and expiry. Your list of who to expect. Empty: "No active codes right now."
  • Currently Inside (n): everyone who entered and has not been recorded out. Empty: "No visitors inside right now."
Two things to do at every handover

Refresh both lists and walk the incoming officer through them: who is expected, and who is still inside. Then sign out, so the next entries are recorded under their name.

Attaching a visitor photo

If your estate manager enabled it, the verification screen offers an optional visitor photo. Take it before recording the entry.

It takes three seconds and it is the difference between "a man in a blue car came in around 8" and an actual identification. Use it for anyone you do not recognise.

Gate History

The History tab. Every verification, entry and exit at your gate, searchable by code, resident or house. Empty: "No records."

Use it to answer questions during a shift: has this code already been used?, did that delivery van leave?, and to back up incident reports afterwards. Your estate manager sees the same data in Code & Entry History.

Resident Incidents

The Incidents tab. Incidents reported by residents through the mobile app: the resident, their note, any photos, and the location.

Check it at the start of every shift. A resident reporting a suspicious vehicle or a broken perimeter light at 2am is telling you, and this is the only place you will see it.

Empty: "No resident incidents."
