Home & navigation
The Home screen is the whole app in one scroll: who you are, whether you are protected, the six things you can request, and the slider that raises an emergency. Learn this screen and the rest is detail.
Anatomy of the Home screen
Top to bottom
The shield status ring
The breathing shield in the middle of the screen is a status indicator, not a button.
| What it says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Protection Active | You are on Premium Shield. SOS and Guardian Mode are available to you. |
| Basic Protection | You are on the free tier. Towing, escort, incident reports and the directory work; the SOS slider and Guardian Mode are locked. |
| Emergency Active | An alert of yours is live right now. The SOS slider is replaced by a green "Tap to return to emergency screen" card. |
Profile completion card
Under the shield sits a dismissible card showing how complete your profile is, as a percentage and a checklist. It exists because every missing field is information the responder coming to you will not have.
- Add a profile photo, so a responder can identify you in a crowd.
- Add an emergency contact, so we can reach someone who knows you.
- Add your home address: used when an alert has no usable GPS fix.
- Add medical information: allergies, conditions, blood group; handed to the ambulance crew.
Tap any row to jump straight to that field in the profile editor. The × dismisses the card permanently; it does not complete anything.
The service grid
Six tiles in a fixed order. Five are free to open; Guardian is Premium.
The bottom navigation bar
Four tabs, or five if you are an estate resident.
| Tab | What is there |
|---|---|
| Home | Everything above. |
| Directory | The searchable police station directory with one-tap call and navigate. |
| Inbox | Notifications & Alerts. A red badge shows your unread count, capped at 9+. |
| Profile | Your profile, safety settings and account. |
| Estate Estate only | Visitor entry codes. Only appears if your account belongs to a registered estate. |
Pull to refresh
Drag down anywhere on Home to re-sync. This pulls your subscription state, any live alert, active ambulance requests and your unread count. Do this if something looks stale, for example if you just upgraded on another device and the shield still reads Basic Protection.
Live and Premium badges
Two small badges appear on service tiles and tell you a lot at a glance:
- Live: you have an active request of that type. The tile gets a red border and a soft glow, and tapping it opens the tracker rather than a new request form.
- Premium: the feature needs Premium Shield. Tapping it on a free account opens the upgrade sheet, not the feature.
Find the History clock and the Settings cog in the top-right without looking. In a real incident you will want History (to reopen a live event) and Settings (to check contacts) instantly.
